What to see

best 20 mins for architecture photos: stairs or foyer?

Camera, no tripod, normal private-use photos. If I only get 20 minutes to concentrate on one space, Grand Staircase or Grand Foyer? I care about lines, depth and people-in-space more than close details.

Just keep it handheld. Tripods/selfie sticks are not allowed.

For depth and people moving through the composition, I would choose the Grand Staircase. The Grand Foyer is more linear and decorative; the staircase gives you more changing levels and sightlines.

Old buildings over beaches, always. I'll happily stand in one room for twenty minutes if the ceiling deserves it.
