costume exhibition + wheelchair: worth booking for it?
Hello. We are two visitors and one of us uses a wheelchair. The current costume exhibition is the main reason for considering the visit. Before I book, can somebody confirm whether that exhibition space itself is accessible, rather than only the general Palais Garnier route?
eea resident but non-eea passport - which price?
im 24, living in portugal with a residence card but my passport is brazilian. for the self-guided visit am i the EEA adult price or outside-EEA price? and what do they actually want to see at the door - passport, residence card, both?
friend cannot go - can someone else use the ticket?
One of our four cannot make the trip now. Can we hand that visit ticket to another friend, or is it tied to the original person? One ticket is a reduced rate, so I assume that one may be different.
VR backstage = actual backstage access?
The VR description mentions workshops, rehearsal spaces and rooftops. Just checking expectations: does buying that experience get you into any of those places physically, or are they only shown through the headset?
engagement photos inside - where is the line?
Not a commercial shoot, but more than casual phone snaps: proper camera, couple dressed up, maybe a few posed engagement-style shots. No crew. Are they likely to treat that as ordinary private photography or as a prohibited photo shoot? Tripod/selfie stick also relevant.
daytime visit entrance = NOT the grand front doors?
First visit and I would absolutely have walked straight to the big Place de l’Opéra façade. For a normal daytime visit, where exactly should I aim instead?
20–25 mins late: still inside the slot?
11:00 ticket. Train timing now looks more like 11:20 or 11:25 at the door. I keep seeing people talk about “grace periods” but I only care about the actual rule. Am I still inside the allowed window at that point?
december dates missing - sold out or not released?
Trying to book for December and the official calendar just stops before my date. A reseller is already showing something “available”. Is the Opera calendar broken, or do visit slots only appear closer to the date?
can I leave for lunch and come back?
Morning slot, lunch booked nearby at 1, and I was hoping to do half the visit, go out, then come back for the Library-Museum. Same ticket okay for re-entry or is leaving final??
45 minutes only - what would you NOT skip?
Unexpected schedule squeeze. I will have maybe 45 minutes, and I care much more about the architecture than “seeing every room”. Grand Staircase, Grand Foyer, Library-Museum, salons - what deserves the time first?
auditorium is the whole reason - still book?
Honestly the red-and-gold auditorium and Chagall ceiling are 80% of why I want to go. I know access can disappear because of rehearsals. If that room is not guaranteed, is there any way to book specifically around it, or is it simply a risk with every daytime visit?
wheelchair + temporary exhibition - can I actually reach it?
The temporary exhibition is one of the main reasons we would book. I use a wheelchair. The general route is described as accessible, but I also found a note that seems to exclude the exhibition area. Can someone separate the two for me?
which palais garnier ticket sites are actually authorised?
searching tickets gives me many sites that look official and prices are all different. is there an actual list of sellers the opera recognises? i dont want to find out at the door that “palais garnier tickets” dot whatever was just a reseller pretending to be official
temporary exhibition included or extra ticket?
There is a costume exhibition on when we are in Paris. Do I need a separate exhibition ticket, or is it included in the normal daytime admission? I am seeing “subject to exceptional closure” and not sure whether that means extra charge or just possible access changes.
restaurant halfway through visit? bad idea?
We have a late-morning visit and were thinking of stopping at the restaurant for lunch, then continuing inside. But the restaurant seems to have its own outside entrance. If we leave the visitor route to eat, does that kill the visit ticket?
pushchair allowed or not?
Two-year-old, stroller, morning visit. I only need the permission bit first: allowed inside, yes or no? We can deal with stairs/crowds if it is actually permitted.
10-minute VR thing - included with normal ticket?
The Apple Vision Pro experience looks interesting but I cannot tell whether it is part of the normal daytime ticket. Is the €12 thing an add-on? Can I reserve it before I go? Also taking a 9-year-old, will there be age issue?
Library-Museum included in self-guided visit?
Opera-history person here, not just interiors. Is the Library-Museum part of the normal self-guided route, or does it need a separate library/museum ticket? And is it actually display material, not just a reading room?
one hour between bookings - too tight?
Trying to put Garnier between two timed things. Realistically I would have about 60 minutes inside, maybe 65 if everything runs perfectly. Is that “quick but doable” or am I setting myself up to sprint through it??
that 1:100 scale model - on the normal route?
Architecture nerd question. I read about the new 1:100 model because it apparently shows parts of the building most visitors never enter. Is the model itself on the normal visitor route, and is that basically the point of it?
