restaurant halfway through visit? bad idea?
We have a late-morning visit and were thinking of stopping at the restaurant for lunch, then continuing inside. But the restaurant seems to have its own outside entrance. If we leave the visitor route to eat, does that kill the visit ticket?

Yes. Any exit from the visit is final, so do not plan the restaurant as a mid-visit break if you still want to return to the visitor route.
